Thank you very much for taking the time to write. I am deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your cat, Preston. It's devastating to lose a healthy pet at such a young age and so quickly.
The EPA recently announced the results of its year-long investigation of pet spot-on products, including ProMeris. Here is information about it:

Also, please contact the National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) and let them know what happened (they maintain a database of adverse incidents from pesticide products for the EPA. The EPA uses this data to identify dangerous products). Their phone number is 1-800-858-7378.
A lawsuit was recently filed on behalf of several pet owners against the makers of several flea and tick products. Here is an article about it:
