PROMERIS PULLED FROM MARKET???

My vet recently told me that ProMeris has been pulled from the market. Of course, my first reaction, although, silent was that of glee. It meant that I had kept my promise to my sweet, innocent and beautiful, Preston and was successful along with so many others. A heartfelt thanks to all of you who, like myself, took up arms against the manufacturer of poisonous products cleverly disguised as harmless flea control.

The question whether ProMeris, in particular, for cats has really been discontinued sent me into a little investigating. http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2011/05/26/pfizer-to-discontinue-promeris-flea-and-tick-treatment.aspx  Of course, this link is dated 2011. Naturally, I decided to dig a little bit more, in hopes, that what was my vet had told me and what I had read was true. I didn't want to rejoice prematurely, after all...

http://www.animalhealthfoundation.net/news/item.html/n/20106  Now, this website is up to date, and quite an interesting read, because the manufacturer of ProMeris, namely, Pfizer are still denying any link between adverse reactions, including death.  Instead, Pfizer claims that the reason for discontinuing the product is due to poor sales??? You know what folks, the bottom line for me is, I don't really care why Pfizer has removed this product from the market. For me, it is a victory, because it means that another loving animal companion parent does not have to suffer what I, and so many others have, because of this and other poisons like it. As far as I am concerned, one down and too many more to go...
